BlakYaks is celebrating its 1st anniversary!
Today is a special day for our team as we are celebrating BlakYaks’ first full year in business!
It feels like just yesterday when BlakYaks opened its doors in March 2021 with the vision to build secure Azure cloud-native solutions for businesses that expect enterprise quality.
The business launched in recognition of a rising industry demand for high quality Azure cloud native platforms that could support businesses digital and cloud transformation goals. Despite starting our journey during a global pandemic, BlakYaks grew the team quickly with its first employees hitting the ground immediately and working on some great customer projects.

First year, many accomplishments
Today, as we are celebrating our first anniversary of trading, we would like to share with you some of our achievements so far:
Where are we today?
Fast forward one year and we cannot be prouder of all the things we have achieved together:
We enjoy some great customers across Financial Services, Construction and Health.
Delivered 20+ Azure Cloud-native workstreams.
Providing Azure Specialist Operations Services for any Azure system we deploy.
We increased our headcount by 600% since March 2021.
We are Microsoft Partners with four Gold competencies and multiple silver competencies.
We are constantly growing our partner eco-system and working with great cloud native complimentary technologies.
We have hired quality Cloud engineering talent almost every month since launch: We also currently have six open positions across professional services and Azure Specialist Operations
We are back in our expanded Central London Office.
And what customer work have we done so far?
We have delivered over 100 Code Projects and Repos. Some examples:
Ansible, Azure & CIS policies with Kyverno controls.
Azure hosted Kubernetes & containers deployments (e.g. AKS, Azure Red Hat OpenShift, Portworx, Docker, Rancher).
Azure enterprise scale deployments (Monitoring, networking, DevOps, Security).
Azure Specialist Operations Processes.

Building the right culture from scratch is a challenging endeavour. As a cloud consulting business, the people we work with daily and the way we work with each other is critical to get right, because it reflects on the quality of the solutions that we deliver to our portfolio of customers.
Since we launched, we have grown the Yaks herd with some great trusted professionals who are always up for hard work and some great fun. We may be a technology focused business, but we are also a people business where cultural fit is very important. Our team are from different countries and have different backgrounds, but when it comes to the way we work, we like to think we approach projects the same way.
Today we are proud of the great bunch of people that have come together and are working as one team and we can’t be happier to have you all. Thank you for joining the journey and making BlakYaks a great place to work. You all deserve a big round of applause!

Moreover, we have been lucky enough to have worked with great companies and terrific people who have trusted us with their enterprise cloud native efforts. Thank you to all our past and present customers for allowing us to assist you with your cloud transformation goals and we hope to continue doing so moving forward.

What’s next?
Our vision for the future is to keep working on building honest and transparent relationships with our customers team members while delivering high-quality solutions and this is the key pillar of our core values. We also believe it is one of the main reasons why BlakYaks has been steadily growing since we launched in 2021, and we look forward to fostering even tighter relationships with our current customers and partners while creating some new ones along the way.
As we look back today, we would like again to thank the Yaks, our customers, partners, and those who believe in us and support the journey we are on. We look forward to what is in store for our second year in business!
