The Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards 2023 ceremony night

Last night a few of the BlakYaks team got all dressed up and attended the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards ceremony, at the Grosvenor House Hotel Park Lane.

Attracting a variety of organisations, from startups to established industry leaders, the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards is the largest and most comprehensive business awards programme in the United Kingdom. These awards celebrate businesses that are demonstrating exceptional growth, innovative strategies, and market leading customer service and engagement.

Hundreds of companies entered these prestigious national awards, hoping to be recognised for their dedication, innovation, and business success. Given this highly competitive environment, BlakYaks is incredibly proud to have been selected as one of the finalists of the ‘New Business of the Year’ category, which recognises new businesses that have adapted to the demands of their market, shown significant innovation, built a strong team and has the foundations for continued success and further growth. While we didn’t win the category, being shortlisted was a great honour and a fantastic recognition of the hard work our team put in every day.

About the night

The Awards ceremony, hosted by BBC News anchor Naga Munchetty, was intertwined with entertainment and speeches from Sarah Austin, Director of the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards, Jeremy Hunt and David Harewood, amongst others, giving inspirational talks to all finalists and winners. Elyn Corfield, who leads Business & Commercial Banking at Lloyds Banking Group, also took the stage to address the finalists:

“I believe that we have huge opportunities to turbocharge growth, to support everyone who has that spark, that fragment of a business idea, to start up, grow and hopefully develop into thriving businesses which are the driving force in creating new jobs and economic growth. This country needs businesses to thrive, with people like you, your drive, your energy, your passion, and your courage. Being a finalist of the BBEAs is an outstanding achievement. Tonight, is about shining the spotlight on the very best of UK Business.”

Being shortlisted as a finalist for the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards is an acknowledgement of our team’s exceptional hard work and commitment. Well done to all the winners, and congratulations to everyone at BBEA for putting on such an enjoyable evening.
