Celebrating another year as a Great Place to Work®

BlakYaks achieves ‘Great Place to Work®’ certification for the second consecutive year

We are thrilled to share that BlakYaks has been certified as a Great Place to Work® (GPTW®) for the second consecutive year!

Last year, BlakYaks achieved this prestigious certification for the first time (read more), and we are delighted to announce that our dedication to creating a positive workplace environment has once again been recognised.

In the Trust Index™ 2023 survey, which captures team feedback, BlakYaks achieved an exceptional score of 98% (average across all responses) and 100% of our employees agree that this is a great place to work.

This score not only reflects our commitment to our employees' well-being but also the incredible camaraderie and spirit that defines our workplace.

Our GPTW journey so far

In our first year of being recognised as a Great Place to Work®, we have been included in the below lists:

What have we done this year

We actively work towards enhancing tech skills and promoting diversity and representation within the evolving landscape of the UK's tech sector:

  • BlakYaks Academy: In our mission to develop cloud skills in the market, we launched BlakYaks Academy. Our Academy offers personalised development and training plans to graduates and early-in-career professionals with the aim of providing them with the necessary skills and experience to accelerate their development within the cloud tech industry. Read more about our BlakYaks Academy here.

  • Microsoft Partner Pledge: We are proud to add BlakYaks’ name to the growing list of Microsoft Partner Pledge signatories. Our commitment revolves around growing tech talent, enhancing diversity and inclusion, and contributing to a sustainable world. Read more here.

  • Tech Talent Charter: We have joined the Tech Talent Charter (TTC) to promote diversity and inclusion in the UK's evolving tech sector. This commitment underscores our dedication to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and open culture within our business and the broader tech community. Read more here.

  • Corporate volunteering day: To celebrate BlakYaks’ second anniversary and recognising the importance of community involvement, the Yaks spent a day at Hampstead Heath participating in conservation activities in the park with the help of Heath Hands. Read more here.

Certification process

We would thoroughly recommend GPTW® to all organisations looking to drive employee engagement. The process to get certified starts with the team responding to a Trust Index™ Survey provided by Great Place to Work®, which measures their perception and opinions of the workplace and company culture.

This is followed by a Culture Audit©, which is completed by the leadership and management team and then evaluated by an independent Great Place to Work® team. The two survey scores are combined to provide a total score, with the Trust Index™ accounting for two-thirds of the final results.

Conclusion

At BlakYaks, we are not just a workplace; we are a community where every member is valued, supported, and encouraged to thrive. Achieving the Great Place to Work® certification for the second consecutive year is a testament to our ongoing commitment to excellence, collaboration, and creating a workplace where everyone feels welcomed.

We look forward to another year of growth, innovation, and continued success as we strive to make BlakYaks an even greater place to work in the future.

Thank you to our incredible Yaks team for making this achievement possible!
